The on-line version of the MIT directory on largely is built on a merge of Registrar, Personnel and Moira (user account) data. In addition to this data, some directory information has been managed in an ad hoc manner via a variety of mechanisms. Such data includes fax numbers, URLs and suppression information. These forms are here to provide a means for easier management of this extra data. Updates to this data occur on a hourly basis.
This application requires the use of personal certificates signed by the MIT Certificate Authority. This authentication mechanism is becoming more common for modern web-based network applications such as WEBSIS.
